William T.
Carvalho
d. Jan 24, 2021
Fall River
William T. Carvalho, 95, of Fall River, husband of Ezaltina "Sally" (Pestana) Carvalho, passed away peacefully in the comforts of his home on Sunday, January 24, 2021 after a period of declining health. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Joseph Carvalho and the late Maria (Tavares) Carvalho.
Prior to his retirement he worked as a groundskeeper at Diman Regional Vocational Tech High School for many years. During the Christmas season he also ran a very successful business providing beautiful holiday trees, wreaths, poinsettias, and cemetery pieces. A Veteran of the United States Navy, he bravely and proudly served our Country during WW II. He loved antiquing, cooking, baking, and dining out. Bill also enjoyed rides to the ocean and traveling to such places as California, Maine, New Hampshire, and Portugal. But most importantly, Bill was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly.
Besides his loving wife of seventy-three years, he leaves: his children, William Carvalho and his long-time companion, Alice Kalt, of North Conway, New Hampshire, Christine Majewski and her husband, Henry, and Celeste Soares and her husband, Kevin, both of Westport; two grandchildren, Eric Carvalho and his long-time companion, Lori Medeiros, of Fall River, and Amy Ezaltina Boris and her husband, Kane, of Lincoln, New Hampshire; four great-grandchildren, Samuel Carvalho, Sarah Carvalho, Amber Carvalho, and Kristopher Boris; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father-in-law of the late Bernice Carvalho and brother of the late Elson Carvalho, Deolinda Pereira, Odelia Reimer, Elsie Fitzsimmons, Joseph Carvalho, Hilda Silvia, Manuel Carvalho and Mary Carvalho.
A special thanks to the home health aides who provided exceptional and comforting care for Bill: Stephanie, Leonor, Delia, Debbie, Danielle, Tina, and Lucy.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, January 28th, in St. Theresa's Church, Tiverton, followed by his private committal with military honors at Notre Cemetery in Fall River. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Bill's memory to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959
