William Viveiros, 85, of Fall River, husband of Gladys (Lesieur) Viveiros, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Manuel Viveiros and Georgianna (Martin) Viveiros.

He retired in 1997, as Sergeant First Class, after proudly serving thirty-four years in the Army National Guard. An avid hunter of small game and deer, he also loved woodworking, bowling and was considered to be a "jack-of-all trades" since he could fix just about anything. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who held family close to his heart.

Besides his wife of sixty-five years, he leaves: his loving children, Donna Kirby-Blanchette of Fairhaven and Sharon Lynn Schiller (husband- Lawrence) of Brockton; six grandchildren, Cadence Helme, Derek Kirby, Sharyn-Ashley Puccio, Brittani Viveiros, Justin Schiller and Jessica Sullivan; seven great-grandchildren, Sloane Kirby, Paxton Kirby, Jonah Helme, Bailey Sullivan, Jacob Burns, Ava Raposo, and Layla Raposo; one great-great-grandchild, Salem Sullivan; his sister, Patricia Ward (husband- Robert) of Coventry, RI; several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late William R. Viveiros and brother of the late Agnes Viveiros.

Due to the COVID pandemic, a private funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 5 ^th , in our Fall River Chapel followed by his committal with military honors at Oak Grove Cemetery. When the current crisis allows, his family is planning to celebrate his life, the details of which will be announced here.
