Winifred M. Motta, 95, widow of Fernando Motta, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017, at the Fall River Jewish Home. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Michael D. Sweeney and the late Flora (Burns) Sweeney, she worked as a para-professional for many years with the Fall River School Department. A wise and insightful matriarch, Winnie was fiercely loyal in how she loved and guided her family through life.

She is survived by: 2 daughters, Carol Coury (husband William) of Fall River and Susan Lindo (husband David) of Swansea; a sister, Rosemary Leduc of Swansea; 6 grandchildren, David A. Lindo, Nicholas W. Coury, Michael J. Lindo, Cristina L. Raposo, Daniel J. Coury, and Justin A. Lindo; 4 great grandchildren, Caroline, Cameron, Nixon, and Aubree; and several nieces & nephews. She was a sister of the late Margaret Barlow, Francis Sweeney, Michael Sweeney, Josephine Sweeney, and Edith Kmiecik.

Her Funeral Service was held on Friday, March 17th, in our Fall River Chapel followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
