Yvette E. (Lapre) Abrams, formerly Tolley, 95, of Swansea, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by family. Widow of Arthur T. Abrams, she was the former widow of Norman E. Tolley. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred Lapre and the late Florida (Benjamin) Lapre, she lived in Swansea most of her life.
An inspector at Rex-Cut Abrasives of Fall River for a number of years prior to her retirement, Yvette enjoyed reading and spending time with family.
She is survived by: three children, Norma-Jean (Tolley) Toti (husband David), James E. Tolley (wife Susan), and Doreen A. Tolley; two stepsons, Arthur G. Abrams, and Robert Abrams; four grandchildren, Neil Pelletier, Mark Carr, Curtis Carr, and Nicole Morin; two great grandsons, Lucas and Marcus; and several nieces and nephews. Yvette was also the mother of the late Janice M. Carr-Lyons; and the sister of the late Irene Lapre, Doris Jablonski, Lillian Vanasse, and Alice Lapre.
Following a private cremation, Her Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, October 28th, at St. Francis of Assisi Church followed by a private committal and burial of her cremains at Mt. Hope Cemetery, both in Swansea.
