Zelia M. Estrela, 78, of Fall River, widow of Manuel J. Estrela, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Catholic Memorial Home. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Manuel Martins and the late Maria dos Anjos (Calmeira) Martins, she emigrated to Fall River in 1967.

Prior to her retirement, she had worked for many years in the local textile industry. She loved the ocean, enjoying her "lapas," playing cards, and spending time with family.

She is survived by: two children, Lana Remy (husband Dave) and Tony Estrela both of Swansea; three siblings, Manuel Martins, Maria Jose Pacheco, and Mary Lou Raposo all of Fall River; three grandchildren, Amanda Estrela, Joshua Estrela, and Lauren Remy; three great grandchildren, Katalina, Lucas, and Riley; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Jorge Estrela; and a sister of the late Teresa Martins.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, August 30th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Oak Grove Cemetery.
