Zenaida Lopes, 89, of Fall River, wife of the late Gualter M. Lopes, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the Catholic Memorial Home following a long illness. Born in Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao Medeiros and the late Luisa (Simas) Medeiros.

Prior to her retirement she was a sampler in the local textile industry for many years. After retiring from the textiles she worked as a Nurse's Aide at the Catholic Memorial Home for close to twenty years.  A very talented seamstress, she also loved cooking, baking, and entertaining. Zenaida was a true "fashionista", always impeccably dressed from head to toe with the latest matching ensembles. She very much enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the world with her husband and spending quality time with all her family.

She leaves her loving and devoted daughter, Filomena Felix and her husband, Lloyd, of Fall River; her granddaughter, Lauren Felix of Fall River and her partner, Bryan Sawyer of Bristol, Rhode Island; one sister, Carmelia Carreiro (late husband, Augusto) of Assonet; and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, April 18th, in Santo Christo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Zenaida's memory to: Hope Alzheimer's Center, 26 Brayton Ave., Cranston, Rhode Island, 02920.
