Zulmira P. Bernardo, 70, of Fall River, wife of Joseph Bernardo, died Wednesday 11/3/10 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born in Sao Vicente Ferreira, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel T. & Maria C. (Sousa) Pacheco, she emigrated to Fall River in 1967 and had worked in the local textile industry for many years. Besides her husband, she leaves: a daughter, Sonya Rodrigues (husband Nelson) and a grandson, Aiden of Fall River; 5 siblings, Rev. Agostinho S. Pacheco of Toronto, Leonor Ventura, Ilda Sousa, Ernest Tavares, James S. Tavares all of Fall River; many nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Maria Gilda Amaral, Maria Isabel Alberto, Maria R. Paiva, Christina Lima, Jose Sousa, Joao, Manuel & Luis Tavares. Her Funeral Mass was offered on Monday, Nov. 8, in Espirito Santo Church. Interment was in St Patrick Cemetery.
