Zulmiro I. Teves, 85, of Fall River, husband of Maria (Soares Carreiro) Teves, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Kimwell Nursing Home after a long illness.

Born in Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Antonio C. and Maria do Espirito Santo Inocencio.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a silver plater in Taunton for many years. An avid Benfica and Sporting fan, he also loved fishing, gardening, and traveling to such places as California and the Azores to visit his homeland. Besides his wife of sixty-two years, he leaves: his children, Afonso C. Teves and his wife, Susan, Jose Teves and his wife, Karen, both of Swansea, Aldina Amaral and her husband, Norberto, of New Bedford, Gil Teves and his wife, Kimberly, Maria Monte and her husband, Octavio, and Lucia Correia and her husband, Daniel, all of Fall River; his eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Due to the COVID pandemic, Zulmiro's Private Funeral was held on Friday, May 22nd, from our Fall River Chapel followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery. When the current crisis allows, his family is planning to celebrate his life with a Memorial Funeral Mass at Espirito Santo Church, which will be announced here.

Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support. Being unable to do so, because of this pandemic, all are urged to express sympathy online or by mail.
